The element of line is present in all types of art. Lines may be straight, curvy, wavy, etc. I believe the most obvious form of line is present in hand drawings. It's easy to see the types of lines drawn out. By thinking of lines in different ways, I learned how prevalent lines are in artwork, and life in general.
In this unit we did many different exercises that interpreted lines in different ways. I really enjoyed the zentangle exercise, which inspired my final artwork for this unit.
This is my final zentangle-inspired hand-drawn work of art. Music is a huge part of my life, so I decided to incorporate the treble clef into my drawing. I wanted to make something colorful and creative as well, so I used all of the colors of the rainbow in my final piece. I also wanted to make the treble clef stand out as a focal point, so I drew many different colorful patterns around the treble clef to make it stand out (ironically, because the clef is blank white). Overall, I do like my drawing, yet I think it lacks depth and meaning. I feel that it looks a little childish, and that I would need a lot of more time to create something very detailed and impressive.
